Oxjam hits stages, front rooms and street corners across the UK in March. And we need your help to make sure the best place for people to catch live music is right on their front doorstep. Oxjam is back in 2009. Bringing the music to the people and the people one step closer to beating poverty and fighting injustice. Charged with getting local Oxjam events off the ground, our Regional Managers are our festival maestros. And we’re looking for ones near you.
Be challenged
Oxjam will rock the UK in March 2009, and in the months leading up to it, we need you to make some serious noise. You’ll do that by recruiting and managing a new team of support volunteers in your community. Making as much money as possible to fight poverty will be your main goal, and that’ll mean motivating your team to build the local Oxjam line-up. You’ll inspire them to find lots of enthusiastic event organisers, and when they do, they’ll give them the support they need to make their event a success and raise some serious cash.
Be involved
This is as VIP as volunteer opportunities get. While the hours are flexible and you’ll get all the support and training you need from Oxjam HQ, it’s still a huge responsibility. After all, you’re not just helping to organise a whole bunch of different music events. You’re helping to raise the money needed to fight poverty and injustice. Not surprisingly, you’ll need leadership experience and sound organisational skills. But just as important, you’ll love music and live gigs nearly as much as you enjoy working with new people.

Oxjam is a music festival with a difference. Every year, thousands of music-lovers like you get involved all across the UK to raise money for Oxfam. You don’t need to have a guitar or a great singing voice to make a difference. You don’t need a big venue, either. The beauty of Oxjam is that it is for everyone, everywhere. Hundreds of small events around the UK make for one huge party. And you can make it happen.
