To care for residents (to high standards), ensuring their comfort wellbeing and safety.

To develop strong knowledge of and relationships with, residents, their families and anyone else involved in their care, and use this knowledge to meet their needs. To both contribute to, and carry out the implementation of care plans with particular emphasis on key clients.To come up with ideas for activities for the enjoyment and benefit of residents and, once agreed with the Senior Care Assistant, to make these activities happen. To communicate with residents, to spend time with them and to take any necessary actions to help residents remain as independent as they can be. Where required to issue medication to residents.

To support, others in the team, including the line manager in the provision of service to residents. To communicate with the line manager and other members of the team on matters which impact on residents. This could mean communicating face to face or in writing, i.e. 24 hour care plans, incidents (hourly check, in the case of night staff, handover).
