People want justice, not handouts. That’s why we need you to make the most of your influencing skills to help us campaign for change. Experience tells us we need to pile on the pressure, and you’ve got the passion and determination to do just that. Not to mention a genuine desire to empower your community to make a difference.
Be challenged
Climate change. Ethical consumerism. Gender equality. The global arms trade. Whatever the cause, we’ll look to you to get the word out about where we stand, what we’re doing and how people from all walks of life can help us achieve our goals. It’ll mean building productive relationships with the media, partner organisations and key decision makers. And by planning high-profile activities that attract strong media coverage, you’ll compel members of the community to do their bit to bring about real and lasting change.
Be involved
You don’t just feel strongly about fighting poverty and injustice. You’re determined to use your communication and interpersonal skills to do something about it. We need someone who is both creative and well-organised. Someone with the rare ability to channel their energy into producing powerful and inspiring communications. It would be useful if you could bring some campaigning or marketing experience to the table. But more important to us is your talent for changing the way people think about things.
Be Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. More than 8,000 people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
